THE BIG WEEKEND

 SATURDAY

Our pals David and Dahn's daughter Rachel got married on Saturday! Both bride and groom, Justin, are from here - high school sweethearts, but live in DC now and have for a while, so it was wedding/ reunion for them. It really was just a lovely fun filled day for the families and the guests.
Many many thanks for including us!

Her dress was lovely and yes, Dahn did double duty as stepmother of the bride and officiant.
Held in downtown Rochester at the Genesee Valley Club - it COULD NOT have been a more perfect day. Not to hot and bright blue sky.
Married in a big tent out back.
Just as Dahn got everyone settled after the B&G made their way down - the BLUE ANGLES, in town for the Rochester Air Show did a very loud fly over - it was perfectly timed.
After some very fine and rapid vows, we had a cocktail hour
( a surprise Bride was in our midsts! )
Snacks were passed. This is Tuna and Avocado on a crispy won ton,
there were some garlic cheesy endive spears, some spring rolls - and something with duck on a stick that I missed but heard it was good.

 The Cake.
They are both big runners
( look at this lovely cake stand! )

Table settings - the colors were purple and purple
( dad and bride being Northwestern grads )
Our pal Lisa made all the wedding favors, two delicious lavender shortbreads at every place setting -
with the wedding logo. She made them all by hand!
 Three outside open bars

Like I said before, funny how long it had been since I had been to a wedding with so many folks that I liked.
Quick Change Dahn and the Pride of McGill!
 MONOGRAM BUTTER PATS -
you know how I love these.
Sat down to a nice lightly dressed salad with the clubs
signature candied apple
We did have by far the best table -
and even had Elijah ( meaning we got an extra cookie pack )
 Neil had the steak
I had the fish which was very good.
 The B&G made the rounds
A really cute shot of Scott and David
MUCH dancing including a very expressive one by the Dad and Bride.
 Dessert in the bar room
 Neil and Dahn eating cake.
( Yankees dont do grooms cakes - a little fyi )
This is an awful pic of me, but all our pals ended up at this one table there in the bar - I dont even know who took this - and I was stone cold sober ( with FOUR open bars with top shelf drinks! )

We had to take off nineish -

Because I had this the next morning  :
